US Defense Department Launches New Cyber Policy Office, Ashley Manning Appointed Interim Head

The US Defense Department has established a new office, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy (ASD(CP)), as mandated by the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023.
The ASD(CP) is tasked with overseeing the Department of Defense's policy on cyber operations and acts as the Principal Cyber Advisor to the Secretary of Defense.
Ms. Ashley Manning has been appointed to lead the new cyber policy office on an interim basis, pending confirmation of a presidential nominee.
