Tech firm Acuity, a federal contractor, experienced a cybersecurity incident with old, non-sensitive data stolen from its GitHub repositories.

The US Department of State is probing a leaked cache of government and military data, claimed to be stolen by a hacker group named IntelBroker.

The breach, dated March 7, contained documents from various US government agencies, and included classified material.

Acuity's CEO confirmed swift action to rectify the breach and reported no evidence of sensitive client data being affected.

IntelBroker, the group behind the leak, has previously targeted entities such as DC Health Link, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and General Electric Aviation.

The State Department is actively investigating the extent of the breach as Acuity strengthens its cybersecurity defenses.
