Over 500K Affected in GHC-SCW Ransomware Breach by BlackSuit Gang
April 11, 2024Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin was hit by a ransomware attack in late January, affecting over 500,000 individuals.
The BlackSuit gang, responsible for the attack, copied sensitive data including personal identification and health insurance numbers.
There is currently no evidence that the compromised data has been misused.
GHC-SCW is collaborating with law enforcement and cybersecurity professionals to mitigate the incident's impact.
Enhanced security protocols have been put in place following the attack, and the FBI has been notified.
