A hacker known as ShopifyGUY has breached Giant Tiger, a Canadian retailer, leaking 2.8 million customer records.

The leaked data consists of email addresses, names, phone numbers, and physical addresses, but excludes financial information.

Customers can verify if their information was compromised by utilizing the HaveIBeenPwned data breach monitoring service.

Giant Tiger acknowledged the security breach and indicated it involved a third-party vendor.

The breach and availability of the data were publicized by HaveIBeenPwned on Twitter and the information is downloadable from a hacker forum.
