Sony Pictures, in partnership with Legendary Pictures and Capcom, is set to release a new live-action 'Street Fighter' movie on March 20, 2026.

The film will feature a fresh cast and storyline, aiming to improve upon previous unsuccessful adaptations.

The plot will center around iconic characters battling the evil M. Bison.

Despite the popularity of the 'Street Fighter' game franchise, past film versions have struggled critically and commercially.

The new adaptation will face competition from Amazon MGM Studios' 'Project Hail Mary' at the box office.

Legendary Pictures acquired the franchise's film rights in 2023, and the project is currently searching for a director.

The movie hopes to replicate the success of other video game adaptations like 'Mortal Kombat' and 'Super Mario Bros. Movie.'
