Lucasfilm has announced a new long-form anime series titled 'The Ninth Jedi,' which expands on a short from the 'Star Wars: Visions' anthology series.

In the original storyline, Margrave Juro seeks to revive the Jedi Order, leading to a confrontation with Sith agents as Kara delivers her father’s weapons to the Aerial Temple.

Additionally, a sequel to the original short, titled 'Child of Hope,' is set to release on October 29, 2025, as part of the third volume of 'Star Wars: Visions.'

Kenji Kamiyama, who directed the original short, will oversee production of this new series.

The series will delve into the significance of color-changing lightsabers, which reflect the wielder's connection to the Force, and will reveal more about Kara's father, who was kidnapped due to his invention of these lightsabers.

The plot thickens as several characters posing as Jedi are revealed to be Sith, forcing Kara, Juro, and Ethan into a battle against them.

Both 'The Ninth Jedi' and 'Child of Hope' will premiere on Disney+ on the same date.

Set after the events of 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,' the narrative follows Kara, a Force-sensitive woman and daughter of the renowned sabersmith Lah Zhima.

In related news, Roy McCann will replace the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll in the second season of 'Star Wars: Ahsoka,' continuing his unfinished story arc.
