Mike Peters, the frontman of the Welsh rock band The Alarm, has passed away at the age of 66 after a prolonged battle with cancer, leaving behind a rich legacy of music and advocacy.

Alongside his wife Jules, Peters co-founded Love Hope Strength, a charity dedicated to raising awareness of stem cell donation, successfully adding over 250,000 individuals to the global registry.

Peters faced multiple health challenges, initially diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1995, followed by chronic lymphocytic leukemia in 2005, which later progressed to Richter’s Syndrome in 2015.

In a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, Jules expressed her love for Peters and her commitment to honoring his memory, emphasizing his wish for others to live life fully.

The Alarm achieved notable success, including their highest-charting single 'Sold Me Down the River,' which reached No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100, and they toured with U2 in 1983.

Their third album, 'Strength,' released in 1985, marked a breakthrough for the band in the United States, with the title track peaking at No. 12 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart.

Peters was known for his love of music, often sharing his favorite tracks, including iconic songs like 'Rebel Rebel' by David Bowie, which he enjoyed playing at his local pub.
