Mike Peters, the frontman of the Welsh rock band The Alarm, has died at the age of 66, with the announcement made on April 29, 2025.

Peters left behind a haunting final song, 'Totally Free,' which encapsulates his struggle and resilience during his illness.

The band achieved significant success, releasing four BPI silver-certified albums and eight top 40 singles, including 'Rain in the Summertime' and 'Absolute Reality.'

Peters had been in remission for ten years before a more severe diagnosis led to a relapse, forcing him to withdraw from an extensive US tour in April 2024.

His death was confirmed by The Alarm's social media accounts, reflecting on his long battle with blood cancer, including lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Despite his health challenges, Peters continued to create music, with a new album titled 'Transformation' set for release on June 6, 2025.

The Alarm rose to fame in the early 1980s with anthemic hits like '68 Guns' and 'Strength,' and were known for their electrifying live performances.

Peters met his wife Jules in 1986, and they celebrated nearly 37 years of marriage at the time of his death, highlighting his personal life alongside his musical career.

Just two days before his passing, Peters expressed gratitude for the support from fans regarding his new autobiography, Volume 2 HOPE - 1991-2005.

Throughout his illness, Peters remained a prominent advocate for cancer awareness, co-founding the charity Love Hope Strength with his wife, Jules.

His annual fan event, The Gathering, held in Llandudno, became a cherished tradition, reflecting his strong connection with fans.

Their debut album, 'Declaration,' released in 1984, reached number six on the UK charts and contributed to their legacy in rock music.
