Jeju Island is set to host the inaugural Purple Festa, a K-culture festival, on September 12-13, 2025, organized by the Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO).

The festival will kick off with a day dedicated to BTS fans, featuring dance lessons, mini concerts, and various BTS-focused events.

On the second day, the festival will shift its focus to traditional Korean culture, offering performances by calligraphers and chefs, along with immersive experiences related to K-dramas.

Attendees can enjoy free access to pop-up concerts, open-air galleries, and street markets, all showcasing Korea's vibrant creative arts.

The Purple Festa promises to create lasting memories for fans by blending music, art, and cultural heritage in a celebration of K-culture.

A special initiative called the 'Equal Sign Tour' will provide three wheelchair-using BTS fans from Singapore with free round-trip flights to Jeju and a four-day tour of the island.

To enhance inclusivity, a dedicated zone for wheelchair users will be available at the mini concert, and all festival venues will feature step-free access.

All festival programs are free, and shuttle buses will be provided to facilitate transportation for attendees.

Jeju Island has seen a significant increase in foreign visitors, with numbers surging from 709,350 in 2023 to 1.9 million in 2024, particularly attracting travelers from China, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

JTO aims for the Purple Festa to boost tourism on Jeju Island, benefiting local businesses and enhancing its reputation as a cultural tourism destination.

To support this influx of visitors, T'way Air will launch a new direct route from Singapore to Jeju starting August 15, 2025, with one-way fares beginning at $215.20.

In addition to the Purple Festa, other upcoming events in Jeju include the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival from August 9-16, 2025, and the Waterbomb Festival on August 26, 2025.
