Russell Dickerson has returned to the top of Billboard's Country Airplay chart with his song 'Happen to Me' for the week of September 20, 2025, marking his fifth chart-topping hit and ending nearly five years without a No. 1.

This marks Dickerson's first No. 1 in almost five years, the longest drought since Brad Paisley's seven-year gap between 2015 and 2022, with his previous No. 1s spanning from January 2018 to November 2020.

'Happen to Me' is from Dickerson's new album 'Famous Back Home,' which debuted at No. 34 on Top Country Albums with 9,000 units sold.

The song experienced an 18% increase in audience impressions during the tracking week, reaching 31.6 million, reflecting its growing popularity.

'Happen to Me' has also crossed over to other Billboard charts, reaching No. 21 on Adult Pop and No. 40 on Pop Airplay, demonstrating its crossover success.

Dickerson is currently on tour, with his next performance scheduled in Wallingford, Connecticut, on September 18.

Dickerson has achieved four consecutive No. 1 hits on Country Airplay, including 'Yours,' 'Blue Tacoma,' 'Every Little Thing,' and 'Love You Like I Used To.'

Chase Matthew, from Sevierville, Tennessee, previously had a Top 10 hit with 'Love You Again' in September 2024, and his song 'Darlin'' has now climbed to No. 10 on the same chart, marking his second Top 10.
