During One Piece Day 2026, two new anime films were announced: One Piece Film: God Valley aims for summer 2027 and One Piece Film: BAAD targets 2029, aligning with the manga’s 30th anniversary in 2027 and the anime’s 30th anniversary in 2029.

Xebec’s portrayal and the broader God Valley cast are highlighted as potential drivers for the film to become the franchise’s strongest entry.

The overarching One Piece saga remains focused on Luffy’s pursuit of the Pirate King treasure, One Piece.

Core fans are deeply engaged across formats, drawn by ongoing continuity, strong character attachments, world exploration, community participation, and timely event experiences.

While exact reasons for production breaks aren’t confirmed, the convergence of major projects and evolving arcs likely contributes to pacing shifts.

Narrative milestones and the Elbaph/Elbaf arc’s ongoing relevance are noted as part of the storytelling momentum feeding into these film plans.

The summary relies solely on information provided in the article, with no external details added.

Fan reactions are mixed but largely excited, acknowledging high stakes and the challenge of depicting pivotal mysteries, including figures like Rocks D. Xebec and early portrayals of Luffy’s era.

Some analysts speculate BAAD may connect to Will of D themes, aided by typographic hints, though nothing concrete has been confirmed.

Oda’s team suggests the ending isn’t imminent, countering hopes for a near-term conclusion.

Marketing aims to expand the franchise through premium experiences, differentiating formats, leveraging fan knowledge, and coordinating distribution across TV, streaming, cinema, and related channels.

The move reflects a broader industry trend toward canon-expanding adaptations to drive box office performance, drawing on urgency in storytelling.
