Laneway Festival 2027 announces Fontaines D.C. as headliners, with a strong undercard featuring Hayley Williams, Rachel Chinouriri, Ninajirachi, Ecca Vandal, and Daine, across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Auckland in February.

General tickets go on sale, with presale beginning on Wednesday and standard on Thursday, following a teaser campaign across four cities.

Hayley Williams will perform a first solo run in Aotearoa, delivering an extended headline set drawn from her solo catalog.

Industry observers suggest re-centering the festival around smaller, intimate venues like Albert Park to honor Laneway’s heritage and audience expectations.

Presale allocations are emphasized as urgent to secure spots before they sell out.

Co-founders and trade coverage stress Laneway’s mission to uncover rising artists who could become major acts, aiming to influence culture rather than chase trends.

Rolling Stone AU/NZ reinforces this focus on discovering emerging talent ahead of mainstream stages, aligning with the festival’s cultural mission.

Following a successful 2026 edition, organizers reiterate commitment to emerging acts and staying true to Laneway’s core purpose beyond trendy lineups.

NZ Herald notes the lineup marks a return to Laneway’s roots with more niche, smaller acts and less emphasis on big-name headliners.

Laneway operates in a challenging post-COVID landscape, positioning itself as a stable fixture amid industry shakeups.

VIP tickets grant access to a dedicated area with a bar, food, merch, private bathrooms, shaded spaces, and premium main-stage viewing.

Tickets are expected to be in high demand due to the festival’s queer-icon appeal and strong ally presence, with presale starting soon.
