October 28, 2026
PLAVE's fifth mini-album HYPERDRIVE debuted at No. 31 on the Billboard 200 for the chart dated Oct. 31, marking the group's highest ranking on the chart and a leap of 114 spots from Caligo Pt.2.
The album also opened at No. 1 on Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard World Albums, giving PLAVE their first leaders on both charts.
This achievement surpasses their previous best of No. 145 on the Billboard 200 with Caligo Pt.2 in May, making HYPERDRIVE the group's first appearance on the chart.
PLAVE member Yejun will host MBC radio’s Starry Night as a special DJ from November 6 to 8, following Park Hyo Shin’s stint.
HYPERDRIVE broadens PLAVE’s sound with influences from bossa nova, acoustic rock, and R&B, aided by an outside producer for a multidimensional palette.
During the same period, BTS’s Arirang sits at No. 46 on the Billboard 200 with a 31-week run, while Stray Kids’ This & That is at No. 93.
The title track Star Trace marks PLAVE’s EDM-infused dance-pop direction, incorporating bossa nova, rock, and R&B; the album also hits No. 4 on Billboard Independent Albums.
On the Billboard Hot 100, Dracula by Jennie (BLACKPINK) and Tame Impala remains in the Top 10 at No. 8 for a 22nd week.
Star Trace entered the Billboard Global 200 at No. 68 on Oct. 24, later at No. 84, marking consecutive weeks on the Global chart.
The Billboard 200 notes Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack at No. 35 and Katseye’s Wild at No. 39, reflecting industry context for K-pop-related releases.
HYPERDRIVE, released Oct. 12, is led by Star Trace, described as PLAVE’s first EDM-based dance-pop track with cosmic themes tying Asterum to Terra.
PLAVE’s world tour KEEP IT MANIC kicks off in Korea, with dates in Macao (Oct 31–Nov 1) and Los Angeles (Nov 14), expanding their international reach.
