EU Cybersecurity Agency Enhances Digital Defense with Updated Interactive Strategy Map
June 9, 2025
The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) plays a crucial role in assisting EU Member States to develop national cybersecurity strategies that promote trust, resilience, and transparency in the digital realm.
To facilitate this effort, ENISA has updated its National Cybersecurity Strategies (NCSS) Interactive Map, which tracks the progress of EU Member States in enhancing their cyber resilience.
This interactive map includes data from thirty-one countries and 408 organizations, outlining 20 common strategic objectives and featuring 94 strategy-related documents.
The NCSS Interactive Map offers detailed insights into each country's strategic objectives, implementation measures, and best practices in cybersecurity.
Designed as a collaborative tool, the map aims to enhance knowledge sharing among policymakers, researchers, and practitioners, ensuring alignment with EU regulations like the NIS2 Directive.
In a related development, EU telecom ministers have recently adopted the EU Cyber Blueprint, which provides a framework for coordinated response efforts during major cyber incidents affecting critical infrastructure across the EU.
In 2022, ENISA introduced the National Capabilities Assessment Framework (NCAF) Tool to help Member States evaluate the maturity of their NCSSs, with an update scheduled for 2025.
Users of the NCSS Interactive Map can explore national cybersecurity strategies through various perspectives, including Country View, Strategies View, Objectives View, National Implementation View, and Cybersecurity Organisations View, each highlighting different facets of cybersecurity efforts.
