The European Commission has launched two new funding calls today, totaling EUR 145.5 million, aimed at enhancing cybersecurity for small and medium-sized enterprises and public administrations.
The first call, part of the Digital Europe Programme, has a budget of EUR 55 million, with EUR 30 million specifically allocated to improve cybersecurity in hospitals and healthcare providers.
This funding initiative aims to bolster the ability of healthcare institutions to detect, monitor, and respond to cyber threats, including ransomware, thereby enhancing the resilience of the European healthcare system.
The second call falls under the Horizon Europe Programme, featuring a budget of approximately EUR 90.5 million, focusing on the development of generative AI for cybersecurity applications.
Funding will also support advanced tools and processes for operational cybersecurity, privacy-enhancing technologies, and post-quantum cryptography.
