German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul is focusing on strengthening security cooperation with Estonia and Denmark to counteract Russia's aggressive actions in the Baltic Sea region, including threats like the shadow fleet, sabotage of undersea cables, and GPS disruptions.

He emphasized that securing trade routes, clean beaches, and reliable infrastructure benefits all of Europe, highlighting the importance of regional stability.

Discussions in Estonia will also cover joint defense measures such as deploying a German brigade in Lithuania, conducting surveillance missions in the Baltic Sea, and enhancing air defense capabilities.

Wadephul reaffirmed Germany's unwavering support for Ukraine through weapons and aid, stressing the importance of steadfast solidarity without conditions.

Germany and Denmark maintain extensive cooperation across sectors like agriculture, digital transformation, and health, with over 70 joint projects benefiting their border regions.

Following his visits, Wadephul will participate in the Franco-German Ministerial Council in Toulon, France, to further strengthen bilateral ties.

He also highlighted the importance of societal exchange and reducing bureaucracy to foster closer ties between German and Danish societies.

Recent reports indicate Russian drones are conducting reconnaissance over routes supplying military aid to Ukraine in eastern Germany, underscoring ongoing security challenges.
