Tickets for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna sold out in record time, with the Grand Final and all Semi-Finals disappearing within minutes, signaling exceptionally high demand for the 70th edition.

ESC Director Martin Green praised the overwhelming response as a reflection of the contest’s themes of joy, togetherness, and shared experience, noting it resonates especially in challenging times.

The first semi-final is scheduled for May 12 and will feature Israel competing against other countries such as Greece, Belgium, Sweden, and Croatia for a final slot.

Remaining tickets may be released later if delegations do not call up their full contingents.

The event remains a global television spectacle, with millions expected to watch across public media channels and YouTube, and voting by fans worldwide will take place during the two Semi-Finals and Grand Final on May 12, 14, and 16.

A draw held at Vienna’s Rathaus on January 12 determined which Semi-Final each of the 35 participating broadcasters will perform and vote in, with further details available through the European Broadcasting Union.

Host broadcaster ORF’s Michael Krö­n expressed enthusiasm about delivering a special show in response to the high demand.

The Wiener Stadthalle, hosting the 70th Contest, has the largest Eurovision-capable capacity in recent years, enabling the event to accommodate strong demand.

Thirty-five countries are participating in the 70th Eurovision; seeds have been determined for the final for Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, and host Austria, which do not need to qualify.

ORF Executive Producer Michael Krön credited the rapid sales to Eurovision’s continuing ability to bring people together and thanked partner oeticket for smooth handling.

All nine shows during ESC week, including two pre-broadcast performances, sold out within an hour, underscoring the event’s enduring popularity.
