A groundbreaking multi-billion euro initiative between France and the United Arab Emirates is nearing finalization, potentially involving investments of up to €50 billion.

This ambitious project includes the establishment of an AI campus in Île-de-France, with a targeted capacity of 1.4 gigawatts by 2030, and is backed by a collaboration among the Emirati investment fund MGX, Bpifrance, French AI company Mistral, and U.S. tech giant Nvidia.

As part of this investment wave, Prologis, the American logistics giant, announced a €6.4 billion commitment to develop warehouses and data centers in France during the Choose France summit.

Prologis plans to construct four major data center projects in the Paris region, which will have a combined capacity of 584 megawatts and are expected to create 400 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs by 2035.

Meanwhile, American company Digital Realty has reaffirmed its commitment to invest €2.3 billion in two data center projects located in Marseille and Dugny, which will generate approximately 750 direct and indirect jobs.

Additionally, this investment includes €1 billion earmarked for the construction of 750,000 square meters of warehouses by 2028, targeting cities such as Marseille, Lyon, Paris, and Le Havre, and is projected to create over 3,200 direct jobs and 2,400 indirect jobs.

In a related development, Canadian firm Brookfield is set to announce a potential €10 billion investment for an AI infrastructure site in Cambrai, which is expected to create around 4,000 jobs.

The E-Valley pilot site in Cambrai is slated to begin construction in 2026, aiming for an initial capacity of at least 300 megawatts, with plans to expand to 1 gigawatt, contributing to the largest AI infrastructure cluster in Europe with a total target capacity exceeding 2 gigawatts.

Two additional sites in northern France are also planned, reinforcing the goal of establishing the largest AI infrastructure cluster in Europe.

Prologis has already secured 435 megawatts of capacity in Europe, including 184 megawatts in France, and aims to reach an additional 400 megawatts by the third quarter of 2025.

This AI initiative is part of a broader €20 billion strategic partnership with the French government, which was announced during the AI Action Summit held in February.
