According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung shipped a total of 11.5 million fitness bands and smartwatches from January to September 2024.
This figure marks an increase of 2.2 million units compared to the same period in 2023, when the company held a 6.6% market share.
The introduction of the affordable Galaxy Fit 3 has played a significant role in boosting Samsung's sales in 2024.
Despite this growth, Samsung faces significant competition and still has a considerable gap to close to become the market leader.
In terms of total shipments, Samsung ranks fourth in the global market, trailing behind Huawei, Apple, and Xiaomi, which shipped 23.6 million, 22.5 million, and 20.5 million units respectively.
Samsung's latest smartwatch lineup, which includes the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch FE, targets various market segments from entry-level to high-end.
