Anker Recalls 1.1M Power Banks Over Fire Hazard, Offers Replacement or Gift Card
June 12, 2025
Anker has announced a recall of over 1.1 million PowerCore 10000 power banks due to fire risks, following 19 reports of fires and explosions that resulted in minor injuries and property damage exceeding $60,700.
The recall was officially announced by the Consumer Products Safety Commission on June 12, 2025.
Consumers can identify the recalled units by the Anker logo and model number A1263, which applies only to devices sold in the U.S. with specific serial numbers.
These affected power banks were sold online through platforms like Amazon, Newegg, and eBay from June 2016 to December 2022.
In addition to the PowerCore 10000, Anker is recalling three other models: the 334 MagGo 10K battery, the 321 Power Bank (5K), and the 535 Power Bank (20K).
Owners of the affected PowerCore 10000 power banks are advised to stop using them immediately and check if their device is included in the recall.
To participate in the recall process, customers must submit their name, contact information, and a photo of the power bank showing the model and serial number along with the word 'recalled.'
Confirmed recalled units must be disposed of safely at certified facilities, and customers should provide proof of disposal to Anker.
Upon confirmation of proper disposal, customers can choose between a $30 gift card for Anker.com or a replacement Anker Power Bank 10K, 22.5W.
While a purchase receipt is recommended, it is not mandatory for recall participation; proof of purchase is suggested but not required.
Anker advises against disposing of the recalled devices in standard trash or recycling and recommends contacting a hazardous waste collection center instead.
For questions regarding the recall, customers can email Anker support or call their designated support line.
