Eric Migicovsky, the visionary behind the original Pebble smartwatch, is preparing to launch new e-paper smartwatches through his company, Core Devices, with the first models set to ship in July 2025.

Both the Core 2 Duo and the upcoming Core Time 2 smartwatches will feature e-paper displays, health tracking capabilities, and access to classic Pebble watch faces and apps.

The Core Time 2 will offer several enhancements over its predecessor, the Core 2 Duo, including a larger screen, a metal frame, and a built-in heart rate monitor.

Priced at $225, the Core Time 2 is expected to have working engineering samples available within the next month.

Meanwhile, the Core 2 Duo smartwatch, which is priced at $149, is in the final stages of production and is anticipated to reach pre-order customers by July or August 2025.

Customers who have pre-ordered the Core 2 Duo will receive confirmation of their order and shipping details later this month.

Core Devices is also launching a beta program for testing early hardware and a new companion app for both Android and iOS, which will sync notifications and watch faces.

Notably, the new app will be compatible with older Pebble models, including the Pebble Time Steel, Pebble Time Round, and Pebble 2.
