Garmin is prepping a major, stable software update for its high-end smartwatches, including the Fenix 8 and Fenix 8 Pro, building on beta builds accumulated over roughly a month.

The changelog outlines a wide range of new features—such as LTE Standby popup, Messenger reaction support, an image viewer for Messenger media, additional data fields, and numerous UI/UX enhancements—alongside extensive bug fixes across stability, navigation, notifications, workouts, and fitness metrics.

The update underscores ongoing improvements to Messenger for Wearables, LTE features on the Fenix 8 Pro, and general performance optimizations across the family, including Enduro 3, Fenix E, Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro, and Tactix 8.

Beta Version 20.19 has been released to eligible devices with Aviation, Dive, and ECG features enabled, with Garmin expected to move this build to the stable channel within days.

The report notes this information stems from Garmin’s beta program and public changelog, with a strong likelihood of a stable rollout before week’s end.

The upcoming System Software 20.19 (or a similar designation) is anticipated to follow the mid-August major update (System Software 17.28) and the 17.30 patch, delivering roughly 89 improvements—many centered on the Fenix 8 Pro.

Notable fixes include crash fixes during sleep ending, issues with activity status access, map and course point display corrections, Messenger integration improvements, and various LTE-related and battery-related adjustments for Pro devices.
