Indie horror fishing game Dredge, with over one million units sold by October 2023, is set for a live-action movie adaptation.

Production company Story Kitchen, with a portfolio including Tomb Raider and Sonic the Hedgehog, is collaborating with game creator Black Salt Games on the adaptation.

Despite the original game's minimal plot and character development, the production team finds the eerie and rich story compelling for a film.

The movie adaptation of Dredge is in preliminary stages, with no casting, studio, or creative team announced as of yet.

Story Kitchen's ambition to adapt Dredge aligns with the current trend of turning popular video games into films, as they also work on adaptations of Sifu and Vampire Survivors.
