Diablo IV 'Vessel of Hatred' Expansion Launches October 8 with New Class, Level Cap, and Major Updates
October 2, 2024The highly anticipated expansion for Diablo IV, titled 'Vessel of Hatred', is set to launch on October 8, 2024.
This expansion continues the story from the base game, featuring characters Neyrelle and Mephisto's Soulstone.
Players will explore the jungles of Nahantu, which revisits a location previously corrupted by Mephisto in Diablo 2.
Vessel of Hatred will introduce a new class called the Spiritborn, along with a fresh endgame dungeon.
The expansion will also include a major update for all players, raising the level cap to 60 and the Paragon max level to 300.
Blizzard has made adjustments to the Torment World Tier difficulty based on player feedback from the recent 2.0 update.
A significant revamp of the game's progression system is expected, similar to improvements made in Season 4 regarding loot.
Players who do not preorder the Ultimate edition will still receive additional in-game rewards such as pets, mounts, and armor sets.
Preordering the expansion grants access to exclusive items, including the Mother's Lament Legendary Gem for Diablo Immortal.
Players can preload the game now, with PC preloading available and console preloading starting on October 5.
Despite some early access bugs reported by players, there remains optimism for future expansions and content for Diablo IV.
The expansion is priced at $40 and must be purchased outright to access it at launch.
