These partnerships not only enhance the league's operational capabilities but also contribute to broader community outreach efforts.
For the first time, regular season matches will adopt a roving format, taking place at various venues across Singapore to enhance fan interaction.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has launched Season 9 of MPL Singapore, introducing a major format overhaul aimed at enhancing community engagement and mobile-centric gameplay.
This season is touted as the most community-driven edition yet, providing fans and aspiring players with more opportunities to participate in the competitive landscape.
The playoffs will feature six teams competing for a prize pool of SGD 40,000 (approximately £23,075) and a chance to qualify for the MLBB Mid-Season Cup at the upcoming 2025 Esports World Cup.
A promotional video has been released to showcase the new format and the opportunities it presents for players and fans alike.
This innovative approach aims to create a more engaging experience for fans and players, making esports more accessible to the local community.
The new season features a four-stage structure, including a Seeded Stage with five invited teams, Challenger Qualifiers for up to 64 community teams, a Challenger Stage for top challengers, and Last Chance Qualifiers for one final playoff spot.
MPL Singapore has partnered with Head & Shoulders and CapitaLand for Season 9; Head & Shoulders will launch limited-edition packaging featuring MLBB characters, while CapitaLand will assist with event logistics.
Daniel Chew, Head of Esports for Singapore and Cambodia at MOONTON Games, emphasized that these changes focus on empowering the community and fostering a sustainable esports ecosystem.
The Esports World Cup is scheduled to take place from early July to late August 2025, providing a global stage for esports competitions.
The top four community teams in the Challenger Stage will face off against the invited teams from the Seeded Stage, nurturing emerging talent.
