Nintendo Switch 2 to Launch with GameCube Classics and Exclusive Wireless Controller
  • Nintendo has officially announced that the GameCube library for the Switch Online will launch on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the release of the highly anticipated Switch 2.

  • On launch day, players can look forward to three confirmed GameCube titles: The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soulcalibur 2, and F-Zero GX.

  • However, access to these GameCube titles will be exclusive to owners of the Switch 2, even for those who subscribe to Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

  • Nintendo has plans to expand the GameCube library over time, following a similar strategy to its previous classic libraries for NES, SNES, N64, and SEGA.

  • Additional GameCube titles are expected to be added in the future, including fan favorites such as Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Strikers, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Luigi’s Mansion, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Pokémon Colosseum, and Chibi-Robo.

  • To enhance the gaming experience, a new wireless GameCube controller will also be exclusive to the Switch 2, allowing players to enjoy these classic titles with an authentic feel.
