Impact46, a leading Saudi Arabian technology investor managing a gaming-focused fund with over 2.3 billion SAR ($613 million USD) in assets, has made its largest investment to date by committing over 200 million riyals ($53 million USD) to Kammelna, a prominent Saudi gaming studio.

Impact46 has previously invested in successful startups like Rasan and Jahez, and has returned over 3.3 billion riyals ($880 million USD) to investors, emphasizing its significant role in the regional gaming and tech ecosystem.

Kammelna's CEO, Bader Al Zamil, stated that this partnership will help expand their culturally rooted games globally, leveraging the studio's popular mobile game adaptation of the traditional Saudi card game Baloot, which has over 6 million downloads and more than 1 million monthly active users.

Kammelna's Baloot tournaments have attracted up to 150,000 participants, underscoring its cultural importance within Saudi Arabia.

The investment was announced on August 23 during the New Global Sports Conference in Riyadh, coinciding with the Esports World Cup, highlighting its significance to the gaming industry.

This deal aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the National Gaming and Esports Strategy, reflecting the country's broader effort to diversify its economy through gaming and entertainment, supported by government initiatives.

Impact46’s CEO Abdulaziz Al Omran emphasized that this investment marks a major shift in Saudi gaming investments, focusing on culturally grounded and scalable intellectual properties.

Based in Dammam, Kammelna is the largest independent gaming employer in Saudi Arabia, with a 40-person team, and has become renowned for its mobile game of Baloot, which has over 6 million downloads and 1 million monthly active users.

The investment was announced during the NGSC25 gaming event in Riyadh, emphasizing its importance to the Saudi gaming industry.

Kammelna’s CEO Bader Al Zamil stated that the funding will accelerate the studio’s growth and enable the creation of more culturally rich digital experiences.
