The popular mixed reality shooter game Spatial Ops, developed by Resolution Games, has launched the 'Pulse Protocol' update today across Meta Horizon and PICO stores, following its recent award for Best Game at the Auggie Awards.

This update introduces new content, gameplay features, and support for bHaptics devices, significantly enhancing sensory immersion and tactile feedback for players.

Exclusive to Quest, the update adds advanced features in Arena Mode, including Spatial Markers for environment mapping, new enemy types like Hatchet Corp soldiers and Infected, a Weapon Spawner Preview, and a Permanent Death Mode for high-stakes matches.

A new Permanent Death Mode has been introduced, allowing players to engage in high-stakes matches with options for one-team or both-teams permadeath, increasing the game's competitive intensity.

The game emphasizes multiplayer gameplay with modes supporting up to eight players or bots, including Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Domination, and solo campaigns inspired by 80s action and sci-fi movies.

The update adds new enemy types such as Hatchet Corp soldiers and Infected, equipped with weapons like revolvers and RPGs, to diversify combat scenarios.

Players can now use in-game spatial markers, linked with the Spatial Ops Manager app, to improve map creation and spatial awareness during matches.

Additional quality-of-life features include native bHaptics support for TactSuit, TactSleeve, and TactVisor, along with improved weapon handling, achievement tracking, and a floor level adjustment tool, benefiting both Quest 2 and Pico users.

Gameplay enhancements also include better weapon handling through horizontal grip angle offset and quick environment adjustments to improve overall user experience.

The update features campaign rebalancing, an extra-large map template, and in-game achievement tracking, further enriching the game's content.

Since its launch in November of the previous year, Spatial Ops has been available on Meta Quest and Pico platforms, supporting multiplayer combat and solo campaigns.

The game is available on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, with the Campaign Edition also accessible on the Pico Store for Pico 4 and above.

Resolution Games continues to push the boundaries of immersion by integrating tactile feedback and sensory layers to deepen the combat experience.
