Overwatch 2 is launching a Persona 5-themed crossover event starting September 16, 2025, featuring skins inspired by iconic characters from the franchise.

The event will include skins for five heroes—Wuyang as Joker, Mercy as Panther, Lifeweaver as Fox, D.Va as Queen, and Genji as Skull—each designed with detailed visual motifs from Persona 5.

In addition to skins, the event hub will feature challenges, Easter eggs, and UI overlays inspired by the Phantom Thieves, along with artwork by guest artist Shigenori Soejima.

The skins will be available for purchase in-game starting September 16, with prices expected to be around 1,900 Overwatch Coins each, and players can also earn freebies like sprays and icons by completing challenges.

The event runs from September 16 to September 30, offering a limited window for players to unlock exclusive cosmetics and participate in themed activities.

Blizzard has incorporated thematic UI overlays, hidden Easter eggs referencing familiar locations from Persona 5, and a trailer showcasing the skins in action.

This crossover continues Overwatch 2’s tradition of partnering with popular franchises, following previous collaborations with series like Cowboy Bebop, My Hero Academia, and Avatar.

The update also introduces new hero balance adjustments, a new Push map, and the debut of Wuyang as a support hero with a tactical water magic skillset, aligning with Joker's persona.

Additional content includes new maps, a game mode called Payload Race, and various gameplay enhancements, with patch notes expected to be released alongside the update.

The collaboration aims to excite fans, expand cosmetic options, and possibly contribute to anticipation for Persona 6, leveraging the franchise's popularity and thematic content.
