Halo Campaign Evolved is a full remake of the 2021 Halo campaign and will launch on July 28, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

This marks a historic multi-platform launch on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5, expanding beyond traditional Halo exclusivity.

Microsoft announced the project during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, signaling Halo’s move toward broader accessibility beyond console hardware.

Two editions are available: Standard and Premium, with the latter including the Alpha Halo Armory pack, a digital artbook, a short story, and five days of early access beginning July 23, 2026.

The project is a remake that retains the core Halo storyline while undergoing a major overhaul, including a move from Slipspace Engine to Unreal Engine 5 and a rebranding of the development studio.

Halo Studios’ Project Foundry, started in 2024, showed promising results like improved armor detail, dynamic lighting on ice, and atmospheric visuals, supporting the Unreal Engine transition.

In addition to the remastered campaign, Halo Campaign Evolved includes new prequel missions and updated gameplay systems.

The project transitions Halo into Unreal Engine 5 to boost next-gen visuals, streamline recruitment with industry-standard tooling, and enable multi-team collaboration for future Halo titles.

Launch details will be supported by ongoing updates through Khel Now Gaming channels and social media for additional information.

Leadership and studio culture shifts follow mixed Halo Infinite reviews, aiming to revitalize the franchise and accelerate development by adopting new technology and processes.

Remake stays faithful to the original while introducing major enhancements: rebuilt graphics, smarter AI and combat, updated weapon handling, enhanced cinematics and audio, new prequel missions, new achievements, and refined controls and accessibility.
