A crossover between Honkai: Star Rail (HSR) and Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) was officially confirmed for winter 2026, with content and characters crossing between the two Hoyoverse titles.

HoYoverse announced the collaboration will involve characters from ZZZ appearing in HSR and vice versa, building on a teaser from a prior ZZZ update.

The winter 2026 event will see ZZZ characters joining HSR’s Astral Express roster, marking a true playable crossover across the two games.

This marks a genuine character crossover rather than a one-way content tie, following a model where ZZZ characters will be playable in HSR and HSR characters also join ZZZ.

Version 4.5 of HSR, titled To Roll the Stars in Astropolis, is slated for release later in August 2026 and will introduce summer-themed content, including new 5-star characters Robin Summeretto and Aventurine Waveflair.

Robin Summeretto is a 5-star Wind character in ZZZ’s Path of Remembrance who buffs allies through singing and a new single titled Only by Chasing the Wind.

Aventurine Waveflair is a 5-star Quantum character in the Path of Elation who uses beach and surf themes, building up Punchline and Fervor to trigger enhanced Elation Skills.

The crossover will occur during HSR’s winter event window, with ZZZ characters joining HSR’s Astral Express crew after a summer arc and plot developments in Planarcadia.

Hoyoverse plans to continue a connected world narrative across its titles, making this the first crossplay-style collaboration between HSR and ZZZ.

Hoyoverse has a history of crossovers across its portfolio, including past Honkai titles and Genshin Impact matches, signaling an ongoing strategy of multi-franchise collaborations.

Players are advised to prepare in-game resources (Stellar Jades and Polychrome) and redeem codes from both games to maximize the event experience.

The collaboration is anticipated to occur around December 2026, potentially aligned with HSR’s 4.8 or 5.0 update windows.
