Pokémon GO Plans Minior Meteor Shower Events: Catch Exclusive Core Colors and Boost Stardust
October 2, 2026
Minior is a Rock/Flying-type Pokémon that enters outburst events called Minior Showers, with seven core colors total; the Geminids edition in December will release two cores (one for each hemisphere).
Niantic will host six Minior Meteor Shower events in Pokémon GO from October 2026 through August 2027, with each shower introducing one new Minior core color and bringing the total to seven colors.
The seven core colors are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet; the Geminids edition will include two cores, and which color corresponds to each shower has not yet been announced.
During each event, catching Minior yields extra Stardust, and players should check official announcements and trackers for color confirmations before each shower.
Minior only appears during events; to maximize capture odds, play between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. local time, use Incense, and look for the Meteor Form where the core is revealed in battle.
Form changes for Minior occur during GO Battle League battles or when facing Team Rocket and leaders, with the in-game sky showing shooting stars during these events.
Beyond Minior, the Halloween season and Twilight Trails will bring other debuts, including spacesuit Pikachu in One-Star Raids (early October) and Bramblin via GO Pass tasks or Incense (mid-October), plus Mega Chandelure and Dynamax events for Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf.
Minior will not be allowed at the 2027 Pokemon GO Latin America International Championships, but it can be used in GO Battle League, reflecting ongoing growth in competitive play (including in India).
Minior is weak to Steel, Electric, Ice, Rock, and Water moves, with Steel being particularly effective due to its dual typing.
GO Tour 2027 is planned for Taiwan and the United States in February, with speculation about future features like Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane Necrozma.
During Minior Showers, wild spawns increase and catch opportunities rise, and Minior can switch from Meteor Form to Core Form in battle when HP drops below 50%, affecting strategy.
Minior starts in Meteor Form (higher Defense, lower Attack) and shifts to Core Form (higher Attack, lower Defense) below 50% HP; this form change is currently observed in Team GO Rocket battles, Team Leader battles, and GO Battle League.
