Thief: The Dark Project Remastered is slated to launch on December 3 across PC, PlayStation, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch, with Clear River Games handling a physical edition.

At launch, players will get The Tarnished Mirror, a new self-contained campaign that expands the story.

Two collector-friendly editions are offered: a $39.99 Steelbook Edition with a Steelbook case and printed manual, and a $69.99 Deluxe Trapezoid Edition featuring a Remaster Diary and packaging that nods to the original 1998 trapezoid box.

A Tarnished Mirror trailer accompanies the announcement, though the reports do not detail its content.

Thief is highlighted for pioneering stealth over combat, a foundational influence on the genre with a history of groundbreaking mechanics.

The article notes no other major new gameplay features beyond the announced enhancements.

Readers are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates from the PC Gamer team.

The writer expresses personal excitement that the expansion helps offset the absence of a PC version of the remaster’s special edition box, while praising the remaster’s overall potential.

The game centers on Garrett, now an adult outside the Keepers, as he uncovers corruption and conspiracies while stealing from the wealthy for a greater good.

Garrett’s role, the stealth-forward gameplay, and the narrative themes of deception and revenge provide context for new players and longtime fans.

Readers are invited to pre-order or buy through linked retailers, highlighting the collaboration as a notable moment bringing community content into official canon.

The remaster preserves the franchise’s stealth focus and integrates community-driven content, including fan missions, from day one.
