Thief: The Dark Project Remastered is set to release on December 3 across PC, PlayStation, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch, with a physical edition from Clear River Games.

At launch, the remaster adds a new self-contained campaign called The Tarnished Mirror.

Edition options include a Steelbook Edition ($39.99) with a Steelbook case and printed manual, and a Deluxe Trapezoid Edition ($69.99) that features a Remaster Diary and packaging designed to resemble the original 1998 trapezoid box.

A Tarnished Mirror trailer accompanies the announcement, though the reports do not detail its content.

The original Thief is celebrated for innovating stealth over direct combat, establishing a foundational stealth game that influenced the genre and earned recognition for its character and story development.

Beyond the stated enhancements, no additional major gameplay features are highlighted in the source article.

Readers are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates from the PC Gamer team.

There is personal excitement about the expansion offsetting the absence of a PC-specific trapezoid edition, with the remaster shaping up as special.

Garrett stars as an adult operating outside the Keepers’ order, uncovering corruption and conspiracy while stealing from the wealthy for a greater good.

The overview emphasizes Garrett’s stealth-centric role and the game’s themes of deception and revenge to set context for new players.

Readers are urged to pre-order or buy via linked retailers, noting the collaboration as a notable moment bringing community-created content into official canon.

The article notes that skipping a PC edition is common in boutique physical releases, citing similar moves by other indie titles and publishers.
