Lottie Woad has had an impressive golf season, highlighted by her victory at the Scottish Open in her professional debut, making her only the third woman to achieve such a feat, along with notable finishes like T3 at the Amundi Evian Championship and winning the KPMG Women's Irish Open as an amateur.

A key factor in her success has been her improved putting, which is partly attributed to a strategic change in her equipment: she switched the color of the line on her ball from black to red, finding it more vibrant and easier to see, thereby enhancing her aim.

This color change was motivated by her observation that the black line caused inconsistency in her aim, and after experimenting with different colors, she chose red because it matched her putter shaft and stood out better on the green.

This simple adjustment in her gear exemplifies how small modifications, like using a more visible marker, can significantly boost a golfer’s performance, especially in putting.

Her strong performance is partly due to her putting skills, where she ranks highly on the LET for Average Putts per GIR and per Hole, demonstrating her proficiency once on the green.
