The Locus Science Fiction Foundation announced the winners of the 2025 Locus Awards on June 21, 2025, during a weekend dedicated to celebrating outstanding works in science fiction and fantasy.

Winners are determined by votes from readers, highlighting a democratic approach to honoring exceptional works in literature.

Yoon Ha Lee's 'Moonstorm' won the Young Adult Novel category, and John Wiswell's 'Someone You Can Build a Nest In' was awarded in the First Novel category.

Chuck Tingle's 'Bury Your Gays' was recognized as the winner in the Horror Novel category.

Ann Leckie's 'Lake of Souls' won the Collection category, while the anthology 'The Black Girl Survives in This One,' edited by Desiree S. Evans and Saraciea J. Fennell, took home the Anthology award.

The Science Fiction Novel category was won by 'The Man Who Saw Seconds' by Alexander Boldizar.

Premee Mohamed's story 'By Salt, By Sea, By Light of Stars' won in the Novelette category, and Isabel J. Kim's short story 'Why Don’t We Just Kill the Kid in the Omelas Hole' won the Short Story category.

Charles Vess was awarded Best Artist, and Eugen Bacon's 'Afro-Centered Futurisms in Our Speculative Fiction' won in the Non-Fiction category.

Subterranean Press was recognized in the Publisher category, and Neil Clarke was named Editor of the Year.

These awards recognize excellence across 17 categories, including best in genre and excellence in editing, showcasing a diverse array of literary achievements.

In the Novella category, T. Kingfisher's 'What Feasts at Night' took the top prize, while the author also won the Fantasy Novel category with 'A Sorceress Comes to Call.'

The event featured authors Sarah Gailey and Tochi Onyebuchi as Guests of Honor, alongside local author Kemi Ashing-Giwa and artist Stephanie Law.
