Madrid is recognized as the most long-lived capital in the European Union, with a life expectancy of 86.1 years, surpassing traditional longevity hotspots and earning the title of 'blue zone 2.0'.

This exceptional longevity in Madrid positions it ahead of well-known Blue Zones like Sardinia and Okinawa, making it a leading example of healthy aging in Europe.

Pre-conference tours to UNESCO World Heritage sites near Madrid will be held on September 29-30, 2025, offering attendees a chance to explore the region’s rich cultural heritage.

The summit will be hosted at the historic Great Amphitheater of ICOMEM, a venue linked to Nobel laureate Santiago Ramón y Cajal, and will feature a documentary premiere and a march advocating for longevity.
