Three young German entrepreneurs have purchased a tower in downtown San Francisco for $11 million, with plans to transform it into a collaborative hub for innovation in longevity, AI, crypto, and robotics.

This initiative, named Viva Frontier Tower, aims to create a 'vertical pop-up village' that promotes health, productivity, and community engagement through various conferences and events.

Laurence Ion, a key figure in the longevity investment community, envisions expanding this project into a larger initiative called Viva City, which would establish similar hubs in major cities for longevity and biotech communities.

Each floor of the tower will serve a specific purpose, including labs, a gym, and a dedicated longevity floor managed by Ion.

The recent longevity conference held at the tower featured prominent speakers, including Aubrey de Grey, who highlighted the importance of public support for longevity research, drawing parallels to cancer research funding.

Innovative technologies showcased at the conference included a brain-mapping helmet from Kernel and companies focused on mind uploading, underscoring advancements in neuroscience.

Zoltan Istvan, a political advocate for transhumanism and AI policy, spoke at the conference about the necessity for society to adapt to the changes brought by AI.

The transformation of this tower into a hub for cutting-edge fields follows the introduction of the 'network state' concept by Balaji Srinivasan, which aims to create communities of like-minded individuals.

The project also aims to revitalize the surrounding Mid-Market area of San Francisco, addressing local social issues while fostering innovation.
