Abu Dhabi has launched the Life Endowment campaign, aimed at providing free healthcare for individuals in need, particularly focusing on chronic disease treatments.

This initiative, introduced in May 2024 by the Endowments and Minors Funds Authority and the Department of Health in collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent and Ma’an, seeks to raise funds to cover treatment costs and enhance healthcare services.

The campaign promotes the concept of waqf (endowment) as a sustainable tool for community development, highlighting the UAE's commitment to humanitarian efforts.

Fahad Abdulqader Al Qassim, Director General of Awqaf Abu Dhabi, emphasized the vital role of endowments in community development and pledged effective management of contributions to maximize social impact.

To facilitate contributions, the campaign will utilize the Emirates Red Crescent and the Authority of Social Contribution - Ma’an as fundraising partners.

Funds raised through these partners will alleviate financial burdens on underprivileged patients and will be invested to maximize returns for healthcare programs.

The invested funds will not only enhance the quality of life but also support public health initiatives within the community.

Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of Emirates Red Crescent, highlighted the campaign's potential to provide hope for treatment and recovery, especially for high-cost treatments.

The Authority of Social Contribution - Ma’an aims to foster social responsibility and community engagement in supporting health initiatives.
