The Saudi Film Commission has unveiled Jax Film Studios, a state-of-the-art production complex in Riyadh, which is set for completion later in 2025.

The launch of Jax Film Studios was announced at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival, attracting significant interest from international filmmakers and industry leaders.

Covering over 7,000 square meters, the studio complex features two 1,500 square meter soundstages, a virtual production stage equipped with Sony's latest technology, and various amenities including a private cinema and VIP lounge.

Abdullah Al-Qahtani, CEO of the Film Commission, emphasized that the studio represents a milestone in creating a world-class cinema ecosystem in Saudi Arabia, aiming to empower local talent and attract international filmmakers.

This initiative is part of the Saudi Film Commission's broader strategy to invest in film infrastructure, talent development, and global partnerships.

The announcement of Jax Film Studios follows a deal between Film AlUla and The MBS Group for the management of AlUla Studios, alongside new production facilities in Neom, Saudi Arabia's futuristic city.

To further boost its film industry, Saudi Arabia offers a cash rebate exceeding 40% on international film and TV productions.

Since lifting a 35-year cinema ban in 2017, Saudi Arabia has experienced significant growth in its film sector, becoming the leading market for theatrical box office returns in the Middle East and North Africa.

In addition to the soundstages, Jax Film Studios will offer meeting spaces, production prep areas, dining zones, and a dedicated VIP lounge.

Strategically located, the studios provide convenient access to five-star hotels, high-end dining, and Riyadh's international airport, all within a 20-minute radius.

This accessibility is designed to facilitate easy collaboration for local filmmakers and industry professionals.
