Prize money totals over AED 2.4 million, with first place receiving AED 80,000, second AED 70,000, and third AED 60,000 in each round, plus gold, silver, and bronze boat replicas for the top three finishers.

The event aims to preserve maritime heritage, promote traditional sea sports, and reinforce national identity by uniting seasoned sailors and younger generations around Emirati cultural symbols.

The race comprises four rounds representing the colors of the UAE flag, featuring 68 boats and 1,156 sailors, on a three-nautical-mile course from Reem Island to a finish opposite Louvre Abu Dhabi, passing the Zayed National Museum and the Natural History Museum.

Organisers say traditional marine races during national occasions strengthen cooperation, teamwork, and perseverance, while fostering social cohesion through a festive atmosphere.

The event coincides with the inauguration of the Zayed National Museum in Saadiyat Cultural District, underscoring ongoing cultural and heritage initiatives.
