Joe Torre, aged 83 and a National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, has been appointed vice chairman of the Hall of Fame.

Torre, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014, joined its board in 2023, succeeding the late Joe Morgan.

His tenure in baseball includes a distinguished playing career, highlighted by a National League MVP award in 1971, and 18 seasons with significant achievements.

As a manager, Torre led teams to great success, most notably the New York Yankees, capturing four World Series titles and six American League pennants.

The board of the Hall of Fame, overseen by chairperson Jane Forbes Clark, finalized the appointment to fill the role left vacant by Morgan's passing.
