Seattle Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo will begin the 2024 season on the injured list due to elbow inflammation, with a recovery period before resuming throwing estimated at 7 to 10 days.

Top pitching prospect Emerson Hancock is set to take Woo's place in the starting rotation, a change from his expected start with Triple-A Tacoma.

Additional Mariners relievers, Matt Brash, Gregory Santos, and Eduard Bazardo, are sidelined with injuries as the season commences, all with different expected return dates.

The Mariners' season opener is set to be at home against the Boston Red Sox.

Off-season movements for the team included trading Robbie Ray to the Giants and Anthony DeSclafani to the Twins.
