Giants' New Ace Blake Snell Set for Debut Against Nationals on April 8
April 2, 2024
Two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell is set to make his San Francisco Giants debut on April 8 against the Washington Nationals.
Snell recently signed a $62 million, two-year contract with the Giants in March.
Prior to his first start, Snell will participate in a simulated game and will be on a pitch count of about 70 pitches.
He previously achieved a 14-9 record with a 2.25 ERA while with the San Diego Padres, earning him the NL Cy Young award, and won the AL Cy Young with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2018.
The Giants have scheduled an off day before Snell's start, giving them flexibility to adjust their pitching rotation.
