Scherzer has experienced no post-surgery nerve pain and is impressing with his rehabilitation progress.

He completed a 40-pitch bullpen session and is slated to throw live batting practice the following week.

There is a possibility of Scherzer returning to the game before his 40th birthday on July 27.

Teammate Jacob deGrom is also recovering from surgery but is not progressing as rapidly as Scherzer.

The Rangers hold an optimistic view on Scherzer's potential early return to the mound.
