The San Francisco Giants have signed catcher Curt Casali to a one-year contract amid injury woes.

Starting catcher Patrick Bailey is on the injured list with a concussion, and backup Tom Murphy is out for 60 days with a knee injury.

Casali has history with the Giants, having played for them in 2021-22, and brings experience from his recent season with the Cincinnati Reds.

He had signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs in March and showed promising performance in Triple-A.

Giants manager Bob Melvin is optimistic about Casali's return, citing his skills as an asset to the team.

Casali's career stats include a .220 batting average, with 47 home runs and 154 RBIs over 10 major league seasons.
