Jac Caglianone, a 22-year-old outfielder drafted sixth overall by the Kansas City Royals in 2024 from the University of Florida, will focus on hitting and learning the outfield after being selected as a two-way player.

The Royals have promoted Caglianone to Triple-A Omaha, with his debut scheduled for May 20, 2025, against the Salt Lake City Bees.

The Royals are currently facing challenges with their outfield production, ranking 29th in Wins Above Replacement, highlighting the urgency for Caglianone's offensive contributions at the major league level.

CBS Sports has ranked Caglianone as the second-best prospect in the Royals' system, acknowledging both his potential and concerns regarding his swing-heavy approach.

In his 38 games at Double-A this season, Caglianone has showcased his offensive prowess with a .322 batting average, a .394 on-base percentage, nine home runs, and eight extra-base hits, although he has struck out significantly more than he has walked.

Caglianone set Florida's career home-run record and has demonstrated impressive offensive skills, including an exit velocity of 117 mph during the Arizona Fall League.
