The 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs are set to begin on October 22, 2025, following the conclusion of the regular season on October 18, which determines the seeding for the postseason.

Eighteen teams qualify for the playoffs—nine from each conference—with the top seven from each conference earning direct entry to Round One, while the eighth and ninth seeds compete in Wild Card matches.

All playoff games will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV, with commentary available in both English and Spanish; select matches, including the MLS Cup Final, will also be televised on FOX Sports in the U.S. and TSN and RDS in Canada.

Round One features a best-of-three series where higher-seeded teams host the first and potentially third games, with the lower seed hosting the second.

Wild Card matches are single-elimination games hosted by the eighth seeds, with the winners advancing to Round One.

The playoff structure includes a Wild Card round, Round One best-of-three series, Conference Semifinals and Finals, leading up to the MLS Cup final scheduled for December 6, 2025.

The MLS Cup final will be hosted by the team with the better regular-season record and is set for December 6, 2025.
