Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons has undergone a second back surgery, specifically a microscopic partial discectomy, to address a pinched nerve.

The surgery was conducted by Dr. Timur Urakov and is expected to facilitate a full recovery for Simmons in time for the 2023-24 season's training camp.

Since his 2021 transfer to the Nets, Simmons has played in only 57 games due to persistent back problems and mental health issues.

Simmons has one more year on his contract with the Nets, valued at approximately $40 million.
