Utah Jazz guard Kris Dunn has been suspended for two games without pay, losing $35,678, for initiating an altercation and throwing a punch at Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr.

The conflict during the second quarter of Houston's 147-119 win over Utah is the second altercation this season between Dunn and Smith Jr.

Jabari Smith Jr. has received a one-game suspension and a $53,601 fine for his role in the altercation, with both players being ejected from the game.

The suspensions will be served during the Jazz's game against Dallas and the Rockets' game against Portland, with Dunn missing games against Dallas and San Antonio, and Smith Jr. sitting out when Houston faces Portland.

Collin Sexton, who left the bench during the fight, is not expected to be suspended.

The suspensions come at a critical time as both the Jazz and Rockets compete for a place in the Western Conference play-in tournament, with the Rockets' playoff aspirations particularly impacted by Smith's absence.
